Dhati Lewis

Lead Pastor & Family

Dhati is the Lead Pastor at Blueprint Church in Atlanta, GA. Born and raised in California, as the son of a NFL player, a football scholarship from the University of North Texas brought him south to Denton. But gradually, the Lord shifted Dhati’s goals from following in his father’s footsteps to working in ministry.  While at UNT, God laid on his heart to do something that was both culturally relevant and biblically accurate, so Lewis and his friends started a ministry on campus. God blessed it so much so that when he graduated, other colleges desired his help in starting ministries on their campus.  Dhati went on staff with Impact, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, and helped establish ministries all over Texas.  He also used his connection to athletics as a platform for the Gospel, coaching both high school football and serving with Fellowship of Christian Athletes as UNT's football chaplain. Dhati attended Dallas Theological Seminary and graduated with a Master of Arts in Cross Cultural Ministries.  For the past 7 years, he was on staff at Denton Bible Church; while on staff at DBC, he helped launch a successful urban college ministry (Plumbline) that has impacted not only UNT's campus, but also many others.  In conjunction with DBC, Dhati also planted a church in Denton, TX; but he began desiring to reach a more urban city.

Having witnessed first-hand the power of contextualization in college, Dhati wanted to create a church that is authentically connects around the scriptures in the urban context.  For a year, Dhati and his family moved to Little Rock, AR to studied church planting at Fellowship Associates.  There he build of the belief that Atlanta (and other urban cities across the nation) is full of men and women who are eager to know God in a way that makes sense to them, Lewis and 25 other individuals launched Blueprint Church.

Dhati is married to Angie Lewis and has four beautiful children: Trinity-7, Jade-6, Briaiah-4, and Dhati Jr.-2.
