How did the Lord lead you to South Asia?
Two years ago I went on my first short term trip with Blueprint to India. It was the first time the Lord opened my eyes to understanding what it means to engage "unreached people groups." I was struck by the countless people we encountered who didn't know who the Son was or who've never heard of His name before. That night I prayed asking Father to give me clarity as to what I should do with what I had seen and experienced (I was preparing to go to law school at the time). And that night I felt the Father clearly tell me He was going to bring me back here soon. And He did!
How are you serving?
I’m working to reach "cousins" in brothels and red-light districts.
What are some praise reports you’ve experienced since serving there?
Over the course of a year, I've seen one lady from the local red-light put her faith in Christ. And I've also had another friend from a non-Christian background also express interest in learning more about the Father!
What are your needs and prayers requests?
Joy and contentment - the work here is hard; both spiritually and emotionally draining. And it's even harder doing it without the support of community. Pray that I'd continue to find rest and peace in Him. And please pray also for good health.
What are the needs and prayer requests for the area you’re serving in?
Please be praying for the local fellowships here - that they would continue to stand firm and grow in faith and be bound by love. Pray that they would not isolate themselves in Christian bubbles, but that they would be intentional to go out and reach the lost -- especially in communities such as the red-light districts in my state. Please pray for the believing women at the brothel. There are now five ladies who have put their faith in Christ. Pray that they would continue to abide in love and be a light in the area they live in. Please also pray for the thousands of "cousins" in the surrounding villages and areas near me that are virtually unengaged because of fear and lack of laborers.
